Discrimination runs at some point of our lives, but it is up to us if we let it in our way or let it pass us. Here are some of the works by various artists who believes that the message of acceptance should be passed down and understood. I’ve manage to look into some of those creations who will give you a bigger picture of issues related to LGBT and women empowerment, you might want to take a look at it too.
SHORT FILM: LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED?
Imagine A World Where Being "Gay" The Norm & Being "Straight" Would Be The Minority! [Short Film].
It’s a head turner! The film is about the reverse world ,where instead of being prone to criticisms, same sex relationships is widely accepted in all aspects such as religion, family and society, while being hetero sexual is a disgrace.
The film is an award winning short film created and directed by K. Rocco Shields under Wing Span Picture. He received positive reviews and multiple awards for this short- feature and you better watch it to know what I mean. The video is available on You Tube and their website www.loveisallyouneed?.com.
Love is all you need? Also opens the public of acceptance to the LGBT group, the short film depicts a bullied character by calling her “hetero” for being in love with a boy and tells her struggles by the said affection..

SONG: GENDER GAME BY TAMTAM
TamTam is a LA based Saudi Arabian singer who emphasizes music primarily on social issues specially on women’s rights. Gender Game, was released last October 28, 2014 on TamTam’s You tube channel. In Gender game, she urges women’s rights and aims to send a global call to the world about equality.
As a singer she aims to open the eyes of the public to be aware on the events in Middle East and create ties with the other nations. The song is mainly about women’s struggle and how they rise upon it in a very strong way, below is an insight of the lyrics;
"What hurts the most is if she were a boy it would be fine, but doing it when you're a girl, you really cross the line" – Gender Game by Tamtam
ANIMATED SERIES: THE LEGEND OF KORRA
The Legend of Korra is a 4-Season American Animated Series which aired on Nickelodeon from April 2012- December 2014. The series is the sequel of Avatar: Aang Last Airbender Franchise by the same company. Aang the Last Airbender mainly received positive as well as racism receptions after showing cultural infiltrations of the East and the West, but to the majority the creators did not exert fiery factors that would denounce the show.
But what makes The Legend of Korra in the spotlight?, well, it’s because of the awesome kick start. The series was the highest grossing American Animated film during its first air time and received awards for it, but to the very finale of the series, the creators showed a different atmosphere to the main protagonist. Since majority of the TLOK viewers were children (because it was a kids show), a scene where Korra (the main) and her friend Asami was the cause of the fuzz, because they’ve emphasized same sex relationship, and in no due time the creators did confirmed that they were really in love.

That's all for now, Check out my top picks on Original Filipino Music at "The Yeppoyodel Picks #2" which is coming soon.
